In partnership with Costain, JOS Structures delivered a new concrete contact tank at Frankley water treatment works.
Frankley Water Treatment Works provides water to approximately 1.4 million people within the Birmingham region, therefore works were all undertaken strictly in compliance with Severn Trent clean water standards.
The tank cosisted of many pre-cast concrete walls, columns, beams and roof slabs which were stitched together with reinforced concrete stitches. All lifting and lift plans were delivered by JOS in house lifting specialist.
A sequential approach to delivery was required because of the tight site constraints. JOS produced a 3D model and sketches which helped the whole site team understand how we were going to deliver the works.
Co-ordination with Costain was essential to allow us to install each element of pre-cast concrete delivered just in time in line with the programme.
Additional FRC works within the water treatment works were also delivered by JOS for Costain.
