Project Description
The works were to provide the sub-structure for a new bottling plant enabling an extension to the existing Britvic facility at Glebe Farm Industrial Estate. The heavy loading applied to the slab meant a heavily reinforced base slab with multi level accesses and retaining structures to facilitate this. This was ultimately enclosed in a 35m high warehouse.
The JOS scope of work included the FRC elements of thefollowing;
FRC Conveyor Tunnel & HGV Access Ramp,
FRC Contiguous Wall capping beam,
2000m2 FRC Low bay slab on bearing piles,
7,500m2 550mm thick FRC High Bay Slab,
12,000m2 yard slabs.
JOS Structures worked with the Buckingham team to ensure the accellerated programme was achieved to deliver the operational facility on time. A major part of this was ensuring the prefabricated rolled out reinforcement for the heavily reinforced floor slab was installed quickly saving time over traditional steel fixing methods.
"A well-resourced project with a great quality finish" - Mark Allwork - Buckingham Group Project Director
