Project Description
The scheme was to provide an improved A50 carriage way, which included JOS constructing a new bridge over the A50 in Uttoxeter.
The scope of works was to carry out construction of two reinforced concrete abutments situated North and South of the A50 with retaining walls on either side enabling the prefabricated steel bridge to be positioned in placed.
The Following works were to construct the RC Deck including Parapet, Apron slab and Wing Walls.
This project proved to be strenuous as the majority of the work was carried out over or next to live traffic running on the A50. The majority of JOS workers would work late and weekend shifts to enable the work to be carried out safely.
